I am so excited to get to share today!!! We have come to the end of the Home Town Holiday Sampler Quilt Along hosted by Fat Quarter Shop and I know I have said it before, but, I am just loving this Home Town Holiday Sampler Quilt :)
This quilt was such a joy to make!!! I just had so much fun piecing the stars, trees, schoolhouse, and of course the letters :) And working on it a little each week made it totally manageable because I look back now and realize, wow, that was a lot of blocks to piece for this quilt! It finishes at 93" x 98" so it is a wonderful Queen Size quilt ;)
For my Christmas Sampler, I used three different fabric lines from
Sweetwater for Moda :) There is
Hometown Christmas Edition,
Blizzard and
On Dasher ,(which also includes the adorable Christmas alphabet border :) The background is
POParazzi Grey Background and it has a fun pin dot that really adds some texture to the background. I just love how well the grey made all of the low volume letters just pop, as well as the all the prints for that matter ;) Isn't it just so festive!!!
And when it came time to quilt it, I decided on an all over Swirl :) It is always a favorite and perfect for adding lots of yummy texture and snuggly goodness. And you can totally see that cute alphabet border in this picture. Isn't it just perfect for this quilt!!
And speaking of the texture, I just love how it makes the alphabet just stand out all the more. Don't they almost look like cross stitch letters :) So cute!! Ya, if you couldn't tell by now, I pretty much love, love, love this quilt!! It will be my donation to the
Festival of Trees next year to benefit Primary Children's Hospital as a thank you for my sweet nephew
David :)
And that is my Home Town Holiday Sampler Quilt!!!! Thanks again
Fat Quarter Shop, for this amazing Home Town Holiday Sampler Quilt Along!!! I have loved every minute of it and I love my quilt finish so much ;) And yes, the quilt along has now come to a close, but you can still join in the Home Town Fun :) Just grab the
Home Town Holiday Sampler Book and some Festive Christmas Fabrics or you can just grab a
HTHS Quilt Kit and off you go! And I found it really helpful to break this one up, so you can still follow along with the
Quilt Along schedule here just change the dates for when you are going to start it ;)
Now the only questions is . . . Will you make yours with a light background like the original, or a dark background like mine?? Its so cute either way, how will you decide???
I hope you all have a very Happy Quilting Day!!!
